LGBT & Friends Hiking Group – September 2018
Aloha Maui Hikers-
We hope you will be able to join us for our upcoming Kapalua Coastal Trail Hike. It is a “walking” hike with amazing ocean and resort views.
Perfect for everyone!
Date: Saturday, September 8th
Time: 8:30 am
We will plan to meet at the Kihei Turn Off Parking area at the Intersection of North Kihei Road and Honoapiilani Highway and carpool from there. (We will leave the Parking area by 8:45.)
If you plan to meet us in Kapalua, meet us at the parking area just below the Ritz. We will park at the Bay Villas beach access parking lot. We should get there by 9:30/9:45. If the lower lot is full there is parking just up the road at the shops.
About the Kapalua Coastal Trail:
At the ocean’s edge throughout Kapalua Resort, the Coastal Trail runs north from award-winning Kapalua Bay Beach, across the sand dunes at picturesque Oneloa Bay, through The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua’s scenic grounds to popular D.T. Fleming Beach Park. When completed, the 3.5-mile trail will reach historic Honolua Bay, where the voyaging canoe Hokule‘a began its maiden voyage to Tahiti, launching the Hawaiian cultural renaissance in spring 1976, and where surfers all over the world come over to enjoy its winter swell.
At the 1/2 way point we will have the opportunity to take a swim in the beautiful Kapalua Bay – a pristine protected bay – it is beautiful! Bring a towel!
